International buyers and retail partners can't walk our production floor in person — so this page is us doing our best to bring it to you.
Sourcing the Wood
Every piece starts with hand-selected timber — teak and other quality hardwoods — sourced from responsibly managed forests around Blora. We inspect each log for grain quality, density, and moisture content before it's approved for production. Wood that doesn't meet our standard doesn't make it into a Wood Companion shipment.
Drying & Preparation
Freshly cut timber is dried slowly and properly before it ever touches a saw. Rushed drying is one of the most common causes of warping and cracking in cheaper furniture — we don't cut that corner. Properly dried wood is what lets a piece stay stable for decades, not just years.
Hand Joinery
We build with traditional joinery — mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, and dowel joints cut and fitted by hand — rather than relying on screws, staples, or particleboard fasteners. It takes longer. It's also the reason a well-made hardwood piece can outlast the person who bought it.
Finishing
Each piece is hand-sanded through multiple grits before finishing. Depending on the piece and your specification, we apply natural oil, dark walnut stain, or matte lacquer — each chosen to protect the wood while letting its natural grain show through, not bury it.
Quality Check
Before anything ships, every piece is inspected for joint stability, finish consistency, and overall structural integrity. We'd rather delay a shipment than let inconsistent quality reach a container.
